The Birthday Boy!

Jeremie's Birthday was a couple weeks ago and we had quite a homemade birthday party. We have been so busy lately, plus his b-day was on a Monday, so we decided to keep it simple. VERY SIMPLE. See bar piled up with the glamorous birthday meal:

That's right, you see a Triple Dipper from Chili's (complete with southwestern egg rolls, buffalo wings & cheesesticks), sliced cheese & salami platter, and some hot pepper jelly over cream cheese with crackers. For all of you out there judging me for coming up with the most terribly random menu, let me point out that this is what J requested. If you know J at all, you know he loves his "apps" (appetizers). We called it the Smorgasbord....which by the way, totally reminds me of the rat in the movie Charlotte's Web that ate too much at the fair and ran around singing that song "Smorgasbord, Smorgasbord..." Jeremie and I sing it when we have such random food pairings.

That comment just made me google the work Smorgasbord, which brought me to an actual definition:

Smörgåsbord (Swedish pronunciation: [ˌsmœrɡɔsˈbuːɖ]) is a type of Scandinavian meal served buffet-style with multiple dishes of various foods on a table, originating in Sweden.

Gifts were opened and we finished the night off with DELISH cupcakes from The Cake Shop in Tally. I didn't want to get stuck with a full cake, so I got 4 different flavors:
Italian Creme, Chocolate Strawberry filled, German Chocolate and Turtle. There are no words for how fabulous the cupcakes were. We split them so we could try all 4 and were both covered in icing by the time it was said and done.

Happy Birthday to my wonderful Hubby and Best Friend.

  1. Cake Shop is the best! We have still not found anyone that can top their red velvet or italian creme.

So glad you all had a fun birthday celebration. It's nice to do it small sometimes!
